The right to engage in the practice of engineering shall be deemed a personal right based on the qualifications of the individual as evidenced by such person’s certificate of licensure, which shall not be transferable.24 Del. It shall be unlawful for any person to practice or to offer to practice engineering in this State to use in connection with such person’s name, by verbal claim, sign, advertisement, letterhead, card or to in any other way, represent himself or herself to be an engineer, a professional engineer or through the use of some other title imply that such person is a professional engineer licensed under this chapter or to advertise any title or description tending to convey the impression that such person is a professional engineer unless such person has been duly licensed, authorized or exempted under this chapter.
In order to safeguard life, health, and property and to promote the public welfare, the practice of engineering in this State is hereby declared to be subject to regulation in the public interest. Declaration of purpose unlawful practice.
